Where Geneva comes together, for the place we call home.

We exist to serve our neighbors. Showing up for the everyday moments that make this town feel like home, whether that's a food drive, a park cleanup, or just a conversation by the river.

We exist to help people actually understand what's happening here. In our schools, our local government, our river, our small businesses. So Geneva's decisions don't feel like something that just happens to you.

And we exist to invite hardworking, caring neighbors off the sidelines and into the room. If you care about this town, we want to give you real reasons to get involved and the tools to actually do it.

That's the Geneva we're building, one gathering at a time.

Our Mission

Geneva Common Ground brings people together through local events and small-group gatherings that connect neighbors and give back to the place we call home.

Our Vision

A Geneva where people serve,

know the ins and outs of

their community,

and get engaged on a

civic-level.

Who's Behind This

Jessica Breugelmans

Jessica Breugelmans is a Geneva mom, former teacher, and small business owner who runs The Curated Atlas travel agency, with a background that includes teaching, education coordination for the Chicago Steel, and years of local volunteer work — from the Geneva Academic Foundation to scholarship committees with the Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley. A former competitive gymnast and coach, she started Geneva Common Ground to bring that same hands-on, get-involved spirit to her own neighborhood.

The Geneva Common Ground Approach

Community Events

Every other month, we host something open to everyone — welcoming, practical, and rooted in everyday life here in Geneva. Some events are family-friendly, others geared toward adults, but they're all built around the same idea: show up, do something good for your neighbors, and maybe learn something useful along the way. Topics touch on what actually matters locally — food pantries and healthy living, caring for the river and our parks, navigating schools, property taxes, supporting local business, and community safety.

Gather: a T.A.B.L.E. Series

Gathering Together Around Building Local Engagement

In between events, we slow things down. Gather is a small, hosted dinner series — a shared meal, a small group, and a real conversation about something happening in our community. It's designed to bring together people who might not otherwise sit at the same table, and to leave room for perspectives to shift. Seats are offered through a paid subscription (around $35/gather) to keep the experience well-hosted and consistent.

Looking Ahead: Youth Gather

As Geneva Common Ground grows, we're building a version of Gather just for the next generation — a sponsor-supported space for younger neighbors to build confidence and take part in the same kind of meaningful conversation.
